Inkpen Downie is a progressive practice of architects, interior designers and historic building consultants, who have been working in the region since 1988.
Partners Ben Downie and John Inkpen have built their partnership into the preferred choice for projects for organisations. "We put our success down to understanding our clients needs and tailoring our services to them", said John Inkpen. As well as providing services to developers, enabling the planning process and designing for difficult sites and existing buildings, Inkpen Downie has an award winning reputation for its community buildings, and for schemes preserving the historic fabric of the region.
The office is currently overseeing the development of a new Visitors Information Centre in Colchester, and has recently completed new reception areas for Suffolk police stations. This team of professionals also offer historic building conservation, sustainable, energy efficient design and healthy buildings, planning supervision and disability access auditing, alongside their core services.
