avoid, scam artists

Had an engine overheating problem with my car. Was charged 58 pounds for them to look at it. Given a list of 'faults' and a rough quote of 430 pounds to fix it all. Independantly checked the prices of the parts needed and they all came to less than 80 pounds new ! To make matters worse one of the problems was a faulty fan motor unit that was seized. So rather than following his reccomendatons of getting a new one from ford went to a scrap yard and got a whole unit for 15 pounds. Went to a different garage to get it fitted and they informed me that there was nothing wrong with the fan unit itself and it was just a switch that was at fault which he charged me 13 pounds to replace. The car is now working fine after that 13 pound part. Oh and as I was leaving the garage they even had the cheek to offer me 60 pouinds for the entire car even though I sold it shortly after for 500. Avoid like the plague! One thing that was good though , they booked me in very quickly and 'diagnosed' the problem quickly as well ..... pity it was the wrong diagnosis !
