11 High Street, Nayland,

Dating back to the 15th century, The White Hart Inn is a former coaching inn in the pretty Suffolk village of Nayland. Overhanging beams and open fires give the restaurant a hearty dash of period character, but it's the inventive cooking that really draws the eye. Cuisine shows a Gallic flair in dishes such as fillet of halibut Bourguignon and rack of lamb served with a garnish Provençal, and seasonal produce is emphasised with salmon smoked on-site, herbs and walnuts from the garden and fruit and vegetables grown within the village.
