Quentin Colborn has an extensive background in Human Resources with experience gained within Engineering, FMCG, Services and Insurance.
His career history includes working for the RAC during a period of intense organisational change and involved extensive involvement with Trade Unions and handling significant contractual issues. In 2000 he formed a specialist consultancy, QC People Management Ltd.
A major client was The Rubicon Corporation, a venture capital backed insurance services provider where Quentin was responsible, initially as a consultant – latterly as HR Director, for creating an HR team and infrastructure for the business.
Key projects involved managing the HR aspects of acquisitions and business integrations including handling a number of TUPE transfers as well as introducing employee surveys as a means of improving internal communication.
Typical work has included handling disciplinary cases through to dismissals, hearing grievances as an independent outsider, planning and implementing redundancy programmes, designing selection and assessment centres including the use of psychometric instruments and helping employers to create contracts, policies and handbooks.
